About the Job
A hotel housekeeper (also known as a room attendant) is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall presentation of guest rooms and common areas to ensure a positive guest experience. 

Core Responsibilities:
  • Guest Room Cleaning: Thoroughly clean and sanitize bedrooms and bathrooms, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning mirrors and windows.
  • Linen Management: Strip beds, change linens, and make beds according to hotel brand standards. Replenish towels and handle laundry as needed.
  • Amenities & Restocking: Replenish guest supplies such as toiletries (soap, shampoo), coffee/tea, tissues, and other items.
  • Common Area Upkeep: Maintain cleanliness in high-traffic zones like lobbies, hallways, elevators, fitness centers, and public restrooms.
  • Reporting & Maintenance: Identify and promptly report maintenance issues (e.g., broken bulbs or leaky faucets), safety hazards, and property damage to supervisors.
  • Lost & Found: Securely handle and report any items left behind by guests according to hotel policy.

Key Skills & Qualifications:
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift (typically 25–50 lbs) for long periods.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for cleanliness and presentation to meet high hospitality standards.
  • Time Management: Capacity to clean a set quota of rooms (often 12–20 per shift) within specific timeframes.
  • Knowledge of Supplies: Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment, including their safe handling and application.
  • Professionalism & Discretion: Respect for guest privacy and confidentiality while maintaining a friendly, helpful demeanor. Be a team player. Should be able to follow the instruction/training. Should be able to work with Executive housekeeper and management.

Working Conditions & Education:
  • Shifts: Housekeepers often work 6–8-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays. Daytime shifts (approx. 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM).
  • Education: High school graduation
  • Advancement: With experience, reliability and performance may get promoted to Executive Houskeeper
